Standard 110 outlet is only required, you simply plug it in. The Senior Staircase Lift actually operated on a battery charger and the Handicap StairLift unit will still work if there is a power outage. The Disability Stairway Lifter seat will swivel on both the top and bottom of the stairway, making transferring in and very easy. You simply operate the finger tip controls to go up and down; and the unit will automatically turn off is there is any obstructions in the way.
